The events, organized by the Culture department of the City Council in collaboration with the Egyptian Institute and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Egypt, took place at the El Tronío theater and the Active Participation Center.
One of the days was dedicated to the seventh art, featuring the screening of a documentary on the history of Egyptian cinema and a subtitled film.
Subsequently, the El Tronío theater hosted a literary conference on the playwright Tawfik al Hakim, delivered by Dr. Saad Mohamed Saad from the Pablo de Olavide University. That same day, a documentary focused on Egyptian music was screened.
The closing ceremony was held at the Active Participation Center with a videoconference on the Arabic language. Dr. Hazem Eid from Cairo University addressed «Common characteristics of Arabic and Spanish» from the headquarters of the Egyptian Institute in Madrid.
Through this initiative, Gines has served as a window to better understand one of the most attractive cultures of the Mediterranean region, showcasing some of its main artistic and cultural manifestations.
