After years of neglect and poor maintenance, these sports facilities have been completely updated to ensure quality and safety for playing padel. The investment, amounting to approximately half a million euros, included the replacement of artificial turf on all courts.
The delegate for Sports, María Tena, stated that upon arriving at the City Council, they found many sports facilities in poor condition. "In just 3 years, we have invested nearly 500,000 euros to renovate 100% of the municipal padel courts to provide Sevillians with safe and quality facilities in all neighborhoods," she affirmed.
This action is part of the municipal government's objective to improve all sports infrastructure in the city. The intervention involved replacing old mats with the latest generation of artificial turf, resistant to UV rays and with regulatory line markings.
Furthermore, the porous concrete base supports have been cleaned and repaired to ensure permeability and correct deformations, and siliceous aggregate has been added to guarantee turf stability and the system's sporting function.
This renovation is part of a total investment of 21 million euros aimed at transforming the 24 municipal sports centers. This investment has already led to the improvement of 80% of football fields, work on pavilions and roofs, air conditioning of swimming pools, and the installation of LED lighting.
