The Rectorate of Pablo de Olavide University hosted the signing of an educational cooperation agreement with the Port Authority of Seville (APS), which will facilitate external internships for UPO's undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The agreement was signed by the rector of Pablo de Olavide University, Francisco Oliva Blázquez, and the president of the APS, Rafael Carmona Ruiz. Representatives from the UPO Foundation and the Port of Seville also attended the event.
Rector Francisco Oliva highlighted the importance of company internships for Pablo de Olavide University, noting that the institution is a pioneer in implementing the Bologna Process and that this year over 2,400 students have completed internships with more than 1,000 partner companies.
Oliva thanked the Port Authority of Seville for its interest in hosting UPO students, allowing them to approach the labor market within such a significant institution.
For his part, the president of the APS emphasized the close collaboration between the port and the university that the institution promotes. The objective is to familiarize students with port, logistics, and industrial activities, complementing their training with real immersion at the Sevillian port, with a special focus on environmental sustainability.
The Port of Seville is described as a strategic hub for the European Union, a meeting point for activities related to freight transport, logistics, industry, and the city. It stands out as a highly competitive inland maritime port offering fully multimodal logistics chains involving ships, trains, and trucks. It has five port terminals, three public docks, over 4,000 meters of quay line, and one million square meters of warehouses.
