The Seville-based institution was represented by the Vice-Rector for Internationalization, Marián Morón, and the Rector's Delegate for Strategic Alliances, Rocío Ruiz. Both held key meetings aimed at strengthening academic cooperation and expanding the UPO's network of international partners.
The presence of the Universidad Pablo de Olavide at EAIE underscores its commitment to transformative internationalization, focusing on cooperation, the creation of strategic alliances, and the development of global knowledge networks. Participation in this event allowed for progress in relationships with priority partners in Latin America, as well as consolidating contacts in regions of growing strategic importance such as Asia and Africa.
The fair also served to strengthen coordination with the universities that are part of EPICUR, a European alliance to which the UPO belongs, fostering joint initiatives to enhance the institution's European and international dimension.
The UPO was part of the official SEPIE–Study in Spain pavilion, coordinated by the Spanish Service for the Internationalization of Education (SEPIE), alongside 40 other Spanish higher education institutions. This space facilitated the projection of the Spanish University System to representatives from universities worldwide.
The event brought together over 7,000 professionals from more than 100 countries to discuss key trends in student mobility, global learning, and university internationalization, and to promote the establishment of new cooperation networks.
EAIE serves as a premier showcase for the international projection of the Andalusian public university system, highlighting its quality, innovative capacity, and global outlook. Collaboration with SEPIE is crucial for advancing the internationalization of Spanish higher education and fostering active university participation in European programs and initiatives.
Under the theme ‘The rhythm of revolution’, the 2026 edition focused on the changes transforming international higher education and the role of institutional collaboration in addressing the sector's new challenges. The objectives of the Spanish participation included establishing new alliances, consolidating existing cooperative relationships, and exchanging knowledge and experiences on current higher education trends.
