These interventions add to the improvement of nearly 180 kilometers of roads in the city over the last three years, as part of the ambitious Asphalt Improvement Plan. In the Triana District, these streets join others such as the area around Graham Bell, Juan Díaz de Solís, and Rubén Darío, as well as the neighborhood of Santo Ángel de la Guarda, which had been awaiting renovation for years.
The delegate for Urban Planning, Juan de la Rosa, highlighted that these works, highly demanded by residents, contribute to making Sevilla a safer, more accessible, and more navigable city for both drivers and pedestrians.
The summer plan includes over twenty interventions across eight districts, with a budget of 2.2 million euros, focusing on repaving roads and sidewalks. The districts with the most interventions are Este-Alcosa-Torreblanca (eight streets), Macarena (six streets), and Nervión (two streets).
In the Este-Alcosa-Torreblanca district, streets such as Fernanda Calado Rosales, Flor de Retama, Flor de Papel, Taiwan, Flor de Albahaca, and República de China Avenue will be repaved, in addition to constructing sidewalks on Éufrates and Flor de Albahaca, with an investment of 600,531 euros.
The Macarena district will carry out six resurfacing projects on streets including Santa María del Rocío, Santa María Magdalena, Santa María de la Hiedra, Santa María de los Reyes, Santa María de Ordás, Fray Luis de Granada, and Amalia Torrijos, at a total cost of 257,000 euros.
In Nervión, Luis Montoto and Marqués de Pickman will be repaved, and the Ronda del Tamarguillo will be renovated, including Clemente Hidalgo street, with repairs to sinkholes and the bike lane. These interventions total 282,200 euros.
The San Pablo-Santa Justa district will act on the residential area of Santa Justa and San Juan Bosco street, in addition to renovating the pavement of the Plaza del niño de Vallecas. The joint investment amounts to 282,000 euros.
Other districts with interventions include Los Remedios (resurfacing of Virgen de la Fuensanta, 63,370 euros), Triana (resurfacing in Santo Ángel de la Guarda, 48,680 euros), Casco Antiguo (single-level street in Sol street, 29,080 euros, and resurfacing of the horse-drawn carriage lane on Paseo de las Delicias), Bellavista-la Palmera (accessibility adaptation on Cronos, 45,134 euros), and Norte (resurfacing of Alejandro Sawa, 82,000 euros).
