The program features visits to the Harinera del Guadaíra (Guadaíra Flour Mill), interpretive routes along the Riberas del río Guadaíra (Guadaíra Riverbanks), workshops and visits at the Museo de la Ciudad (City Museum), and the popular theatricalized tours of the Castle of Alcalá.
Tickets for the theatricalized tours of the Castle have already sold out, demonstrating the great interest in this activity. However, there are still available spots for the other cultural and natural offerings.
The delegate for Tourism, Christopher Rivas, emphasized the importance of this celebration, calling it "a key to highlighting the importance of Tourism in our city." According to Rivas, the activities allow "us to showcase our heritage, cultural, and natural wealth through experiences that connect people with our history, legacy, and landscapes."
The day will begin in the morning. The Harinera del Guadaíra will offer visits at 10:30 AM and 11:30 AM, focusing on the building's history and its connection to Alcalá's baking tradition. Concurrently, the Riberas del río Guadaíra will host interpretive routes at 10:30 AM and 11:30 AM, focusing on the natural and landscape values of the area. The Museo de la Ciudad will offer children's workshops and visits at 10:30 AM and 12:00 PM, specifically aimed at families.
The Castle of Alcalá will be the setting for theatricalized tours at 10:30 AM and 12:30 PM, providing a dynamic perspective on the city's history and monumental complex. This activity has already filled all its spots.
The program is complemented by kayak tours starting at 10:30 AM from the Centro de Turismo Activo (Active Tourism Center). This is the only paid activity, priced at 5 euros, and requires direct booking with the managing entity, Riverízate. All other activities are free with prior reservation through the City Council's ticketing website.
The City Council encourages residents and visitors to participate in this event to discover the main heritage, cultural, and natural resources of Alcalá de Guadaíra.
