The fire, which started around 3:00 PM, required a progressive increase in personnel. Initially, the operation involved two semi-heavy helicopters and 35 firefighters with a fire engine. Shortly after, resources were expanded with two light air tankers and 15 additional ground personnel, bringing the total to 50 firefighters and three fire engines.
After 6:00 PM, the Infoca Plan announced a second increase in personnel. The aerial deployment was consolidated with one light helicopter, four semi-heavy helicopters, and two light amphibious air tankers. On the ground, 58 firefighters are working with four fire engines and a medical unit.
Due to the proximity of smoke to homes, security forces have initiated precautionary evacuations to prevent risks to residents. The mayor of Moguer, Gustavo Cuéllar, reported via the City Council's social media that Infoca, the Provincial Firefighters Consortium, and the Municipal Police are involved in the extinction efforts. The mayor warned that the wind is facilitating the rapid advance of the fire, hindering operations.
This is the second forest fire to affect the municipality of Moguer this week. Last Tuesday, another fire was declared in the La Lila area, mobilizing air and ground resources, including two ground-loading air tankers, a semi-heavy helicopter, and 23 firefighters with two fire engines.
