The Odón Betanzos square, in the center of the coastal town, will be the venue for this event that combines gastronomy, music, and coexistence with a strong solidarity and inclusive character. The initiative aims to support the association in its 30th anniversary of work for the full socio-labor inclusion of people with disabilities.
The program kicks off on Saturday at 12:30 PM with the presentation of the contest and a show cooking by renowned restaurateur Sebastián Vázquez, known as “the berries chef”. He will prepare live tastings, translated into sign language by Loli Maestre, which will be available for purchase.
In the afternoon, DJ Manu Pérez and young performers Pepe Luna and Darío González will take the stage, demonstrating how their music overcomes barriers. Saturday's activities will conclude around 7:30 PM with a ham cutting workshop adapted for the users of “Abriendo Puertas”, promoting their autonomy and visibility.
On Sunday, starting at 12:30 PM, the ham cutting contest will take place with the participation of six professional cutters from Andalusia and Extremadura. The jury will evaluate elegance, presentation, cut straightness, slice thickness, and precise weight for 100g portions.
Plates of Iberian ham cut by the participants will be sold for 7 euros by the members of “Abriendo Puertas”, with all proceeds going to the association's work. Sunday's culinary offerings will be complemented by tapas from the Luxury brewery.
To conclude, singer Marina Ñudi will offer a concert featuring international hits, generously collaborating with the initiative.
