The fire, which has generated a dense smoke column visible from several nearby points, necessitated immediate intervention from extinguishing teams. From the air, two ground-loading water bombers and a semi-heavy helicopter are working to put out the flames. On the ground, the operation is supported by 23 firefighters equipped with two fire engines.
This incident is the second forest fire of the week in the province, following the one on Monday in the Dehesa Dos Hermanas area, in Santa Bárbara de Casa. That fire, which started around 4:45 PM and was extinguished around 6:35 PM, also involved a significant deployment of air and ground resources.
Multiple extinguishing teams, comprising both air and ground resources, had been deployed to the scene of the fire to control it as quickly as possible.
In the case of the Santa Bárbara de Casa fire, eight teams initially operated from the air, including a light helicopter, four amphibious water bombers, two ground-loading aircraft, and one coordination aircraft. On the ground, 19 firefighters with two fire engines completed the operation. After stabilization, the air assets were withdrawn, except for the light helicopter, and the ground teams continued until the flames were definitively extinguished.
