The fire, which originated on a private property in Castillejos, is evolving positively and no longer presents an 'active head', as highlighted by the Minister of the Presidency, Antonio Sanz. Despite the positive outlook, firefighting teams maintain maximum caution due to rising temperatures and the possibility of wind direction changes.
Antonio Sanz, speaking alongside the director of the Andalusian Emergency Agency, Alejandro García Hernández, explained that the work carried out during the night and morning has yielded positive results. He emphasized that the main risk factor remains a potential shift in the wind, necessitating continued vigilance with all deployed resources.
The minister detailed that the fire no longer has an 'active head' structure as an advancing front; instead, it consists of scattered hotspots and active points. Overnight efforts have successfully stabilized the initial head and the right flank, areas that posed the greatest risk of the fire approaching the Gibraleón area.
Affected areas show varying degrees of damage, with some zones severely impacted and others retaining conditions conducive to medium-term recovery. Sanz described the night and morning's work as 'very hard and terrible' but praised the coordinated efforts of the deployed teams.
Despite the favorable evolution, the minister stressed that the fire remains active and the emergency is not over. The priority is to consolidate the perimeter, prevent flare-ups, and monitor any meteorological changes, while teams work to ensure the fire's stability on a day marked by increasing temperatures.
