The Museum of Contemporary Spanish Realism (MUREC) will once again become the cultural epicenter of the province to host the Gala Concert of the Sorbas International Music Festival, Almería (FIMSAL). This is the second time the MUREC hosts this prominent activity, strengthening the connection between visual arts and chamber music in a unique architectural setting.
FIMSAL is consolidating itself as a musical training reference in the province and will run until August 4th, offering recreational, educational activities, and concerts in the Filabres – Alhamilla region.
This year's evening, titled ‘Música Fina’ (Fine Music), will take place on Saturday, August 1st, starting at 9:00 PM. The audience will enjoy a select repertoire of chamber music performed jointly by the faculty and students of the festival, fostering artistic coexistence between emerging talent and renowned professionals.
This concert at the MUREC is one of the central highlights of the FIMSAL program, designed for students of all levels to perfect their musical technique in an exceptional environment. The festival, taking place in the Filabres – Alhamilla region until August 4th, combines specialized classes in strings, winds, piano, and harpsichord, as well as workshops on modern music, jazz, and baroque music.
This edition reaffirms FIMSAL's significant role as a driver of cultural dynamism and an essential meeting point for high-level musical education. The festival brings together a prestigious faculty, including renowned musicians such as Simon Smith, Savva Fatkulin, and Juan A. Carmona (violin); Alina Voicu (viola); Miguel Baró (cello); and Manos Kitsikopoulos (piano). Specialists like Daisuke Iida (baroque workshop) and Pablo Mazuecos (jazz workshop) also participate.
Additionally, the festival will feature an event combining cinema and music with a Western Music concert at Oasys Minihollywood, and tomorrow, a twilight music concert will be held at the Sanctuary of the Virgen de Monteagud.
