The President of the Provincial Council, José Antonio García Alcaina, made his first institutional visit to Gádor and Rioja, where he met with their respective mayors, Lourdes Ramos and Olga González. During the meetings, investments totaling nearly 2 million euros aimed at boosting the development of these localities were reviewed.
In Gádor, after signing the book of honor at the Town Hall, García Alcaina held a working meeting with Mayor Lourdes Ramos and the Government team. Investments already made and those planned through the Provincial Plans were analyzed, highlighting projects for improving water supply and sanitation in key streets such as La Paz, Sierra de Gádor, José Mañas, and Plaza Azahar. The renovation of the municipal swimming pool and the creation of a natural recreational area were also discussed.
The municipality of Gádor previously benefited from the Provincial Plans (2020-23) with the expansion of the Music School and the Library, the renovation of the Niño del Remedio Neighborhood Park, and the expansion of the Municipal Cemetery, with a total executed investment of €843,700.
In Rioja, the meeting focused on the upcoming start of Provincial Plan works, including improvements to water supply and sewage networks, enhancement of Parks, and repair of structural damage to the N-340 Bridge. The water supply and sewage network works have a budget of €494,800 and aim to address the deficient state of the hydraulic infrastructures in various areas of the municipality.
The Park Improvement project in Rioja includes the comprehensive renovation of two municipal parks, Caperucita and Dumbo, with the installation of synthetic turf, new children's play equipment, and perimeter fencing. Additionally, repairs to structural damage on the Andarax Bridge, affected by rains in 2020, will be addressed with an initial budget of €70,000 to resolve immediate road safety issues.
