The Provincial Council of Almería has approved an investment of 14.5 million euros for 47 projects aimed at improving infrastructure and public services in the province's 103 municipalities.
The Provincial Council of Almería continues its investment commitment with the goal of improving and creating infrastructure and public services that enhance the quality of life in the 103 municipalities. The past month has been particularly fruitful, with the approval in the Governing Board of an investment of 14.5 million euros for the execution of up to 47 projects to be distributed across all regions of Almería through the Provincial Plans.
Of these projects, 25 are in the tendering phase and 22 have already been awarded and will commence shortly. The initiatives cover various types of actions, highlighting the construction and equipping of municipal facilities, urbanization, paving and urban roads, municipal roads and paths, environment and energy transition, and a significant chapter focused on the water cycle and sanitation.
The president of the Provincial Council of Almería, José Antonio García Alcaina, highlighted the importance of this August for investments, calling the approval of the future Music School of Vícar a historic action with an investment exceeding 4 million euros.
García Alcaina added that these investments "reaffirm the Council's commitment to education and culture as a key element for structuring and retaining the population." He also emphasized the attention given to smaller towns, which, thanks to the Provincial Plans, maintain basic services like water and roads in perfect condition, ensuring the quality of life and equal opportunities for all residents of Almería, regardless of where they live.
The Music School of Vícar will be located on a municipal plot at the intersection of Bulevar Ciudad de Vícar and Calle Platón, next to the IES Puebla de Vícar. It will have four floors and a total constructed area of 2,256.03 m³, with various training rooms for wind, string, piano, and percussion music education, capable of accommodating over 500 students.
Other significant projects include the improvement of urban road infrastructure in Macael, with an investment of 840,000 euros, and urbanization works in Cuevas del Almanzora, with 714,000 euros.
Furthermore, two initiatives were awarded within the Integrated Action Plans (PAI) of Los Vélez and El Almanzora, aiming to secure funding from European Funds (FEDER) under the Spain 2021-2027 Pluriregional Program.
These PAI projects include the improvement of paving and urban infrastructure in Vélez-Blanco (Streets Balsa Parra, Duque de Alba, and Infantas) with 426,000 euros, and the landscape restoration and valorization of the Water Culture Heritage in Serón, with an investment of 168,000 euros.
