The Provincial Council of Almería has approved in its Governing Board the investment of 225,000 euros for the construction of a rural pharmacy in the center of Benizalón. This new service, considered essential for the health of the residents, will be located at Oficiales street, nº 4.
The new building will have two floors and has been designed to be an accessible and functional space. The ground floor will house the public service area, an office, and a storage room, while the first floor, measuring 65.95 m2, will be for storage and will be left open for future adaptations. The property will have a total built area of 137.50 m2, including an outdoor patio.
The president of the Council, José Antonio García Alcaina, along with the mayor of Benizalón, Alejandro Cid, visited the plot where the works will take place. García Alcaina highlighted that these types of projects are "the most effective measures we can put on the table to retain the population of smaller municipalities" and emphasized the "investing and transformative power of the Provincial Plans."
Mayor Alejandro Cid thanked the Council for its support, stating that it "makes it possible for small municipalities like ours to undertake projects like this." He stressed the importance of having quality basic services to avoid having to forgo them by living in a small town.
The project includes air conditioning via ducted heat pump, mechanical ventilation system, and pre-installation of domestic hot water via aerothermal energy, among other modern installations.
