The Municipal School Council of Fuentes de Andalucía held a session where educational matters were discussed, including municipal services in schools and the status of infrastructure improvements.
Mayor Francisco Martínez presented a review of the services the City Council provides to educational centers, emphasizing their importance for students and families, despite the financial effort involved.
Information was provided on the progress of pending improvements in the centers: exterior and court enhancements at IES Alarifes Ruiz Florindo, construction of the SUM at CEIP Santa Teresa, and the installation of an elevator at CEIP Santo Tomás.
Positive news was shared regarding IES Alarifes Ruiz Florindo, with the first phase of improvement works potentially starting in January 2027 if current forecasts hold. Funding is also anticipated for the SUM at CEIP Santa Teresa, and the elevator at CEIP Santo Tomás may undergo a simpler, lower-cost procedure.
Finally, the Council unanimously approved the non-teaching days for the current academic year: February 5th, May 3rd, and May 31st.
The session reaffirmed the municipal government's commitment to education as a fundamental pillar for the development of Fuentes de Andalucía.
