The Écija City Council has incorporated a new Light Urban Pump (BUL) into its fire station, a vehicle specialized in responding to narrow streets and hard-to-reach areas, vital for the historic center.

The mayor of Écija, Silvia Heredia, and the delegate for Citizen Security, Rosario Delgado, visited the Fire Station to see the new Light Urban Pump (BUL). This vehicle, operational since last week, addresses a demand from the government team to improve response to fires and emergencies in difficult-access areas and the historic center, given the city's urban characteristics.
The BUL is equipped with the latest technology and is particularly suited for narrow streets, making it essential for Écija. Its acquisition is the result of repeated requests made by the municipal government team to the Provincial Council of Seville.
During the visit, municipal representatives also learned about the various protective equipment, uniforms, and other material resources acquired by the City Council. These include individual protection equipment (EPI) and lighter intervention suits, specifically for the recently incorporated firefighters.
“

"In addition to seeing this new vehicle, which we managed to get to the Écija Station after repeated requests to the Provincial Council, the firefighters showed us all the material resources provided by the City Council, such as the EPIS and the safer, lighter suits."

Rosario Delgado emphasized the municipal commitment to the continuous improvement of the service, stating that "we are working to equip this essential service with all necessary resources." She added that if the Provincial Council cannot provide them in a timely manner, the City Council will cover the costs to offer a better and greater service to citizens.
For her part, Mayor Silvia Heredia expressed pride in the fire prevention and extinction service personnel, highlighting the importance of them having the new vehicle and all the necessary materials and equipment to ensure their protection and provide the best service.
Heredia also welcomed the new recruits, a result of the municipal effort to strengthen the available firefighting staff in the city, concluding that "we continue working so that citizens feel more secure and tranquil thanks to the work of this great team."
