The Municipal Information Commission for Culture, acting as the jury, unanimously decided to grant this award to the Cano Manzano brothers. The 2026 Cascamorras Award ceremony will take place this Friday, September 4th, during the Gala which will also feature the Official Proclamation of the Fair and Festivals, delivered by Miguel José Ávalos González, at the Dengra Theatre starting at 8:30 PM.
The jury highlighted the recipients' "unconditional love for the Cascamorras Festival", their "example of inclusion, fraternity, dissemination, and commitment to our traditions", and how they represent the values of this celebration.
“"These two brothers are an example of the thousands of people from Baza and Guadix who love our festival, who follow it, who promote it, and who, by doing so, spread a piece of our culture and our city wherever they go. Congratulations to both."
The mayor of Baza, Pedro J. Ramos, along with the Councillor for Culture, José Gabriel López, personally informed José Antonio Cano Manzano of the award's concession.
