The Baza City Council has completed the renovation works of the Pozo de la Nieve, an emblematic building in the Sierra de Baza Natural Park, which will soon be available for public use.

The municipal facility known as Pozo de la Nieve, located in the Sierra de Baza Natural Park, is in the final stages of its recovery for public enjoyment. The renovation works have concluded, giving the building a renewed and spectacular appearance.
Currently, the City Council is finalizing the necessary documentation to ensure responsible and safe use of the facilities. This includes developing usage regulations, a protocol for borrowing the space, and an Emergency and Evacuation Self-Protection Plan, all essential elements to provide full guarantees to visitors.
Soon, official channels of the City Council will provide information on the procedure to request, free of charge, the use of the Pozo de la Nieve, detailing the requirements and conditions of use.
After decades of significant deterioration, Baza will soon regain a dignified, safe, and prepared refuge in one of the most emblematic corners of its municipal area. The refuge will feature amenities such as hot water, electricity supply, renovated bathrooms, conditioned rooms, a lounge area with a fireplace, and basic materials for users to maintain the facilities in perfect condition.

"Recovering a space like the Pozo de la Nieve means more than just rehabilitating a building; it means recovering a part of our identity, valuing our natural heritage, and returning a unique space to the citizens for coexistence, enjoyment of the Sierra de Baza, and bringing new generations closer to respecting our environment. We trust that this recovery will pave the way for continuing to care for and value those public spaces that should never have fallen into neglect. Because protecting our heritage also means respecting our history and building the legacy we want to leave for those who come after us."
