Investigations began following an increase in reports of merchandise theft from truck trailers parked in rest areas in Antequera, such as La Yedra, La Sierra, and Cortijo Robledo. The robberies occurred at dawn, near hotels and rest stops. The local operational group of the Antequera Police Station identified several vehicles used by the suspects, linking them to residents of Pinos Puente (Granada) with similar records.
According to the National Police, the group was highly active, conducting a preliminary 'test' to assess the trailer interiors and the value of the merchandise. The stolen loot was varied, including oil, sportswear, and even meat.
Officers established surveillance in the affected areas and managed to arrest two of the individuals, aged 29 and 32, 'in fraganti'. Tools used to force open trailer doors, such as box cutters for tarpaulin trailers, were seized. Gloves, balaclavas, and hats were also confiscated, along with two trucks that the detainees used to transport the stolen goods.
