The project will focus on a 2.7-kilometer stretch, between kilometer points 2.3 and 5, where the construction of two roundabouts is planned at intersections identified as high-risk. This measure seeks to reduce accidents and improve vehicular circulation in the area.
According to the regional administration, interested companies have until May 20 to submit their bids through the Junta's electronic procurement portal, known as Sirec.
The contract documents detail that the current section features several 'T'-shaped intersections with direct turns that compromise road safety. The new roundabouts will be located at the junction with the A-7284 and a rural road (kilometer 2.3), and at the link with Camino de la Dehesilla and the road leading to the Patronato de los Jarales (kilometer 3.1).
These intersections will be replaced by two large roundabouts, with outer diameters of 50 and 56 meters, designed to organize vehicle movements and minimize conflict points. The Junta emphasizes that these dimensions generally comply with the technical criteria established for this type of infrastructure.
In addition to the construction of the roundabouts, the project includes other actions along this 2.7-kilometer stretch, such as pavement and signage renewal, installation of new safety barriers, and landscaping of the roundabouts' interiors using soil from the excavation work. It also contemplates replacing the bridge railing over the Guadalhorce River with a metal parapet adapted to current regulations.
