On Friday, four Catalan swimmers, Luis Framis de Ferrater, Marc Gómez Santamaría, Pol Eguino Guitart, and Álex Costa Salleras, completed the challenge of swimming between Europe and Africa across the Strait of Gibraltar. Starting from Tarifa towards the Moroccan coast, they overcame strong currents, waves, and maritime traffic on a route exceeding 14 kilometers. Rafael Carmona, FVF delegate, highlighted the event as a tool for awareness.
This solidarity challenge continues the initiative of the Club Nàutic de Vilassar de Mar. The funds raised will be allocated to the Vicente Ferrer Foundation's projects in Nepal, focusing on ensuring access to quality education and combating social stigma for children with disabilities, in a country where a quarter of the population lives below the poverty line.

On Saturday, over 250 participants took part in the III SWIM en el Mar Tarifa solidarity swim. Organized by SWIM en el Mar, Brazadas Solidarias, and the Andalusian Swimming Federation (FAN), with support from the Tarifa City Council and the Cádiz Provincial Council, the event is part of local swimming circuits.
The proceeds from this swim will go towards strengthening the Carmelo Hospital in Chókwè, Mozambique. This medical center, the Vicente Ferrer Foundation's first project in Africa, is crucial in an area affected by structural poverty and diseases like HIV and tuberculosis, providing life-saving care to thousands.
The organization reminds the public that collaboration channels remain open and encourages citizens to continue supporting through donations.
