The fair's inauguration marked the beginning of a diverse program, which started with a lively children's parade. Numerous children, accompanied by fictional characters, walked from the municipal library to Alameda Alfonso XI, where various bookstore stands such as Elebé, Ares, La Caléndula, and Bahía de Letras have been set up.
The inaugural day also included the theatrical performance “caLORCAlor” by the company La Fundición, which took place at the Teatro Juan Luis Galiardo. Additionally, children's workshops and storytelling sessions were offered in the afternoon, attracting a family audience.
One of the key moments will be the Lorquian Encounter, on Friday at 7:00 PM, which will allow the discovery of an unpublished documentary legacy in the region: newspapers, magazines, photographs, and publications from the last century.
A highlight of the fair will be the Lorquian Encounter, scheduled for Friday at 7:00 PM. This event will offer the opportunity to explore a valuable unpublished documentary legacy in the region, comprising newspapers, magazines, photographs, and publications from the last century. This material, which will feature live musical accompaniment, will become part of the San Roque Library Network.
The weekend program includes a wide range of activities. Thursday will be dedicated to school workshops, storytelling, and a session of the José Cadalso Literature Classroom with writer Pablo Rivero. On Saturday, attendees can enjoy “Camino Encuentado” with narration and music, workshops, a literary walk titled “Comer y contar” (Eat and Tell), a recital of Lorca's work, and a concert by the Honey River Jazz Band. The fair will conclude on Sunday with a children's workshop, a themed market inspired by “Alice in Wonderland,” and the official closing at 2:00 PM. Throughout the event, there will be book signings with authors such as Alfonso Navarro, Celeste Lozano, José Antonio Pleguezuelos, and Pedro Roldán.
The fair's stands will be open from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, establishing the Alameda as a vibrant meeting point for reading enthusiasts. With this initiative, the San Roque Book Fair solidifies its position as one of the most significant cultural events in the municipality, blending literature, music, and family activities in an accessible and participatory environment.
