The match between Algeciras CF and FC Cartagena, scheduled for Saturday at 7:15 PM at the Nuevo Mirador stadium, will be one of the first in Spain to use the Real-Time Report (ATR) system. This new tool, developed by Novanet, will allow referees to record goals, cards, substitutions, and relevant incidents from a smartwatch while the game is in progress.
The collected information will be rapidly transferred to the federation's ecosystem and will be publicly accessible via the link marcadores.rfef.es. The primary goal of the RFEF is to improve the immediacy and quality of data from its competitions, making it more readily available to clubs, media, fans, and territorial federations. However, the information recorded during the match will be provisional until the official report is closed.
Following its implementation in the Primera Federación, the ATR technology will be extended to other competitions such as the Segunda Federación starting September 5th and 6th, and the Primera Federación femenina from September 13th. The RFEF will use these categories as testbeds before its potential introduction to the top-tier Primera and Segunda men's divisions, expected after the initial rounds of the Primera Federación.
The project also includes the gradual distribution of the tool to territorial federations for use in regional competitions. In total, 209 smartwatches have been distributed, with 61 allocated to the Primera Federación.
