The mayor, accompanied by the Councilor for Education, Santos Martín, presented the teacher with an institutional plaque, a token for retiring teaching staff this academic year. Ballesteros had been unable to attend the collective ceremony previously organized by the city council, making this meeting a personal recognition.
Juan Franco conveyed the municipality's gratitude for the professor's dedication throughout his academic career, wishing him the best in this new phase. The mayor highlighted Ballesteros' over forty years of public service and expressed his confidence that he will remain involved in educational projects during his retirement.
For his part, Belarmino Ballesteros described the meeting as a symbolic conclusion to his career in the city's classrooms. During his tenure, he held management positions, such as vice-director of the IES Antonio Machado, and concluded his work at the IES Mar de Poniente in compensatory education. The teacher also emphasized the personal bond with the mayor, whom he mentored during his practical training at the Salesianos school.
The event concluded with a mutual recognition of the shared vocation for public service, both in educational work and in municipal management for the benefit of the citizens of La Línea.
