The Association of Local Police Chiefs of Andalusia (Ajdepla) has decided to award the Plaque and the Encomienda, its highest distinctions, to a chief intendant of the Algeciras Local Police. This recognition will take place during the association's nineteenth annual congress, scheduled for next Friday, April 24, in Almería.
The commendation highlights the intendant's brilliant professional career, having dedicated 43 years of service to the Algeciras Local Police. These distinctions add to others previously received, such as the Encomienda and the Sable de Honor from the Madrid Municipal Police, the Police Merit Medal with white distinction from the General Commissariat of Immigration and Borders of the National Police, and his induction into the Order of Merit of the Local Police of Andalusia, granted by the Junta de Andalucía in 2025.
“"I am a police officer by vocation, in the sense that I don't work as a police officer, but rather I live and feel like a police officer twenty-four hours a day."
Currently, the chief intendant serves as the head of the Operational Services of the Headquarters. He has expressed pride in having progressed through all command ranks since joining the force at the age of eighteen. He also conveyed his conviction that these decorations are a shared recognition with the officers and commanders of the Algeciras Local Police staff, to whom he extends gratitude for their daily support and professionalism.
The intendant has also extended his thanks to the municipal authorities for their constant support in managing the Operational Services of the Headquarters, specifically mentioning the collaboration of the mayor and the first deputy mayor, delegate of Citizen Security.
