The decision follows analysis conducted on July 23 and 24, which showed that the presence of bacteria, such as Escherichia coli and intestinal enterococci, has decreased to within the legal limits established for recreational water use.
The temporary restriction had been activated on July 23 as a preventive measure to protect public health, following the detection of anomalous concentrations in previous samples. During this period, the Tarifa City Council proceeded to mark the area with warning signs and yellow flags to alert beachgoers.
The local council ruled out that the source of the contamination was linked to the Wastewater Treatment Plant (EDAR), based on technical reports from the service provider. Municipal authorities have kept the investigation open to identify potential illegal external discharges that could have caused the alteration of the parameters.
