The socialist party considers the "staging" of the announcement, which promises the start of construction for the first week of June, to be "tremendously unfortunate" and in violation of the Electoral Law.
“"The Electoral Law is there to be complied with, in all its points. During a campaign, announcements like those being made by the acting Minister of the Presidency and Health of the Junta in Algeciras and throughout the province cannot be made."
The PSOE criticizes the Popular Party for using the campaign to promise infrastructure projects that, according to them, were already announced in 2018 and 2022 without being materialized. Among the projects mentioned are health centers, a training center, a high school (IES), the Paco de Lucía Conservatory, and the City of Justice.
The socialist party in Algeciras has described it as "distressing" that, after two legislative terms leading the Junta, there is an attempt to "act new" to divert attention from the "worrying deterioration" of public services in Andalucía, especially in Public Health, Education, and Dependency.
For his part, the Popular Party candidate has defended his right to announce "good things for Algeciras," arguing that it is his role as a candidate and that previous complaints to the Electoral Board have been dismissed.
