The Teatro Paseo de la Velada, located in La Línea de la Concepción, will host the show «Voces de mujer» on Friday, January 22, 2027, at 8:00 PM. The production, starring the singer from Cádiz, Milián Oneto, aims to recognize the artistic legacy of numerous Spanish and Latin American female composers, writers, and creators.
The performance combines music, poetry, and narration to revive the works and stories of women whose talent did not always receive the recognition it deserved. Through a curated selection of boleros, tangos, copla, flamenco, and jazz, Milián Oneto will lend her voice to authors such as Marta Valdés, Consuelo Velázquez, María Grever, Eladia Blázquez, Violeta Parra, and Eloísa D’Herbil.
The show also evokes writers and artists linked to the Generation of '27, including Maruja Mallo, Carmen Conde, and Rosa Chacel, broadening its scope beyond music to address the presence of women in various cultural disciplines.
«Voces de mujer» departs from the conventional concert format through a succession of songs, poems, and narratives that allow audiences to learn about the personal and creative journeys of its protagonists. The repertoire also establishes a bridge between Spanish and Latin American cultures, incorporating arrangements that blend the flamenco roots of its performer with jazz and various expressions of popular music.
Milián Oneto will be accompanied on piano by musician and musical director Jesús Lavilla, with whom she maintains a long artistic collaboration. Together, they will offer an intimate performance where musical interpretation and spoken word will take center stage.
Born in Cádiz, Milián Oneto began her professional career in 1998. She later moved to Seville, where she developed an extensive career as a session and live backing vocalist with artists such as José Mercé and Juanito Makandé. Her training encompasses vocal technique, jazz, and flamenco, and she received a scholarship from the Fundación Cristina Heeren de Arte Flamenco.
In 2016, she became the first woman to reach a final and win first prize in the comparsas category of the Official Carnival Group Competition of Cádiz as part of «Los irracionales». Her career also includes radio communication and music dissemination.
Organized by Serendipia Global in collaboration with the Ayuntamiento de La Línea de la Concepción, «Voces de mujer» proposes a musical and narrative experience that combines memory, emotion, and recognition, bringing to the forefront the creations of women who decisively contributed to the common cultural heritage.
Tickets will go on sale starting tomorrow, Thursday, September 10, through Giglon.
