Literature once again takes to the streets of Los Barrios with the inauguration of the sixth edition of its Book Fair. This event, already established in the municipality's cultural calendar, brings together 43 authors this year and features a program designed for all audiences.
The mayor, Miguel Alconchel, accompanied by the Culture delegate, Cristina Marchante; the Sports councilor, Raúl Álvarez; and the president of the Telethusa Women's Cultural Association, María José Alconchel, were in charge of officially opening this event. The fair will take place from this Friday until Sunday, April 12, on Paseo de la Constitución.
From the outset, authorities and visitors have toured the various stands, where writers share their works and engage with the public, fostering a close and participatory atmosphere. Throughout the weekend, residents and visitors can enjoy an extensive program of activities in both morning and afternoon sessions, from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00.
“"To give visibility to authors in this showcase that grows and gains relevance every year."
The program kicked off this Friday with activities aimed specifically at children, such as the sing-along game Cosas de críos, led by Nieves Buscató. The day continued with the presentation of Academus's 25th anniversary, enlivened by the duo Improvisa2.
Saturday is shaping up to be one of the most intense days, featuring bookmark and mask workshops, in addition to multiple literary presentations by authors such as Juan Luis Otero Ripoll, Juan Luis Otero Jiménez, Aitor Díaz, or Macarena Peña, among others. Sunday will maintain the cultural momentum with new book presentations by writers like Salva Menéndez, Filip Markovic, or Pedro Roldán, solidifying the fair as an essential meeting point between authors and readers. The event will conclude with the theatrical storytelling Las aventuras del Pato Federico, performed by the Teatrín company, a proposal designed for the enjoyment of the youngest and their families.
