The Brotherhood of Our Lady of Mount Carmel organized the events for the feast of the patron saint of sailors, highlighting the recovery of the maritime character of the procession along the La Línea coastline. The procession departed from its parish church at 6:00 PM, returning to the sea an event of great tradition for the residents of the Atunara neighborhood and the entire municipality.
The Brotherhood called upon boats to accompany the Virgin during her journey. Participants were urged to maintain a safe distance from the boat carrying the image, strictly follow the instructions of the organization and security forces, and avoid playing music inappropriate for the solemnity of the religious act.
The festive and religious program began in the morning with the attendance of municipal representatives at an open-air mass in front of the Carmen parish church, followed by an offering of flowers. Subsequently, the mayor went to Puerto Chico to witness the recovery of the submerged image of the Virgin, carried out by divers, its journey through the bay, and its conclusion at the Real Club Náutico de La Línea, where a religious service was held.
