The Department of Social Affairs of the City Council of La Línea de la Concepción has organized a social and community dynamization day in the Los Junquillos neighborhood. The initiative, part of the ERACIS+ program, was attended by the Deputy Mayor for Social Affairs, Zuleica Molina, and aimed to strengthen neighborhood ties through collective participation.
Inspired by the upcoming Velada y Fiestas (local fair), the event featured traditional music such as rumbas and sevillanas. Participants from the sewing workshop of La Cátedra displayed flamenco dresses and accessories, while local dance academies offered an open sevillanas workshop, encouraging interaction and learning.
The success of the gathering was due to the collaboration of the neighborhood's associative and commercial fabric. Third-sector entities like Betania, Asansull, Despierta, Fundación Don Bosco, and Fakali, along with workshops such as La Cátedra and Retales, actively participated. Local businesses also contributed by decorating their facades, aesthetically revitalizing the neighborhood.
Zuleica Molina presented participation diplomas to the collaborating entities and workshops, recognizing their contribution to the event.
This intervention addresses diagnoses that identified a need for public spaces for citizen interaction and campaigns promoting civility. The event temporarily activated the environment as a dynamic hub to improve daily coexistence, aligning with the Local Plan for Disadvantaged Areas focused on urban habitat and neighborhood relations.
