The initiative, organized by the municipal Culture department and sponsored by the Provincial Council of Cádiz, will be held in various city locations, with special prominence given to the Cruz Herrera Museum and the Saccone Gardens, commemorating the tenth anniversary of their inauguration.
The program begins on Wednesday, July 29, in the Saccone Gardens with a theatrical performance about the figure of Alfonso XI. On Thursday, July 30, the Casa de la Cultura will host the inauguration of the videomapping piece ‘Butterfly dance’, created by artist Pablo Puyol, which will be operational every night of the event.
Friday, July 31, will see the opening of the ‘Magical Fairy Gardens’ in the Saccone Gardens, a thematic recreation that will remain active until the festival's closing.
Saturday, August 1, will concentrate several proposals. From 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, the Sketchers meeting will take place, a quick painting activity with around thirty registered artists capturing the city's urban environment. In the evening, starting at 10:00 PM, the Cruz Herrera Museum will offer a guided theatrical tour of the linense painter's life stages and the inauguration of the exhibition ‘Inéditos’, featuring previously unseen works. Concurrently, the Plaza de la Iglesia will host a concert of pasodobles by the Municipal Music Band, while the Casa de la Juventud will be the venue for the II Flamenco Night with performances by Antonio Reyes, Rancapino Chico, and David Morales. This flamenco event will be the only one requiring a paid ticket, priced at 20 euros.
The closing event will be a jazz concert by the group ‘El Gremio’, organized by Rizoma Records, on Sunday, August 2, at 10:00 PM in the Saccone Gardens.
Mayor Juan Franco highlighted the evolution of the initiative, which has expanded from a single day to an extensive and diverse calendar, emphasizing culture and local spaces. He expressed gratitude to municipal staff and the Provincial Council of Cádiz for making such a content-rich, high-quality, and diverse event possible.
The delegate councilor for Culture, Raquel Ñeco, praised the accessible nature of the program, aiming to bring culture to the streets for citizen participation without age or physical limitations. She thanked the directors of the involved cultural spaces, Mercedes Corbacho and Macarena Alés, for their administrative work and invited the entire population to mark these dates in their calendars.
