The protagonists of this feat were María de los Ángeles de la Rosa Cordero (31 years old), Bárbara Sandra Pascual Dutrieux (41 years old), Daniel Santana Fernández (49 years old), and José Antonio Fernández Vela (52 years old). They all completed the route between the Isla de Las Palomas, in Tarifa, and Punta Cires, north of Morocco, covering a distance of 15.2 kilometers with wetsuits.
María de los Ángeles de la Rosa was the first to reach the Moroccan coast, with a time of 4 hours and 51 minutes. She was followed by Bárbara Pascual, who completed the crossing in 4 hours and 52 minutes, while Daniel Santana and José Antonio Fernández arrived almost simultaneously, both recording 4 hours and 53 minutes. The average water temperature during the crossing was 15.5 degrees Celsius.
This marks the fourth Strait of Gibraltar crossing in 2026. Previous crossings were completed by Erika Shanahan Gliebe, Elizabeth Ann Almond, and Sia Angharad Clement, who connected Tarifa and Punta Almansa in 4 hours and 23 minutes. Subsequently, Irish swimmers David Buckley, Brian Christopher Foster, and Daniel James Smyth crossed between Tarifa and Punta Cires in 3 hours and 32 minutes. The third crossing was carried out by Alex Rossi, John Robert Batchelder, and Steve Alan Leitch, who completed the journey in 4 hours and 45 minutes.
