Promoción Algeciras has finished in a commendable third position in the women's category of the Andalusian U14 club Athletics Championship. The men's team, for its part, placed fourth. The competition took place at the Emilio Pérez stadium in Motril.
In the overall women's standings, the Cuevas de Nerja club took victory, followed by CD Ecijano and Promoción Algeciras. The Algeciras team was composed of Elena M. Gómez, Ainhoa Tenorio, Carla Prado, María Ortiz, Valeria Andrades, Cayetana Muñoz, Sofía Palma, Leyre González, Miriam Ruiz, Mireya Estrada, Olivia Arriaga, Helena Gómez, and Martina Cabello.
Club Atletismo San Roque, competing in the same category, finished ninth in the women's competition. However, their greatest achievement came with the gold medal won by their men's team in the 4x80 relay, an event held concurrently.
The men's team from Atletismo San Roque, comprising Samuel Gavira, Daniel Perales, Leonardo Guidetti, and Juan Enrique Amusco (with Nicolás Jiménez as reserve), was crowned champion of Andalusia in the 4x80 relay with a time of 4:10, setting their best record to date.
In the same 4x80 relay event, Promoción Algeciras secured the bronze medal in the women's category. The quartet of María Ortiz, Elena María Gómez, Valeria Andrades, and Olivia Arriaga completed the final with a time of 43.32, leading their heat.
In the men's club competition, the podium was completed by Trops Cuevas de Nerja, Tomares Aljarafe XXI, and the Malaga-based Caim-Ted. Promoción Algeciras took fourth place with a team consisting of Ismael Arana, Mario Saucedo, Fabio Márquez, Jorge Palacios, Miguel Martín, Alejandro Quijada, Marco García, Marco Cárdenas, Alejandro López, Luis M. Pérez, Mario Ruiz, and Nicolás Serrano.
The Promoción Algeciras quartet in the men's 4x80 relay, made up of Jorge Palacios, Marco Cárdenas, Mario Saucedo, and Nicolás Serrano, clocked a time of 45.95, placing them ninth in this event.
