A coordination meeting for operational services was held, chaired by the city's mayor, Juan Franco, with the participation of the councilors for Infrastructure, Urban Maintenance, Cleaning, Parks and Gardens, and Education. The objective is to address the planned changes for service improvement in the coming months.
The mayor reported on the status of the Contracting Board, which has proposed awarding the new cleaning contract to the company Grupo Raga, for an amount of 3.2 million euros annually. A future plenary session is expected for the final award of this contract, which aims to provide more significant coverage for this essential service. Currently, the staff consists of 76 operators, which will be increased to over 110 with the new company, an expansion expected to improve street conditions.
Juan Franco also detailed the planned improvements in Urban Maintenance, as well as the implementation of a new horizontal and vertical signage service. This latter service will address existing issues related to the painting of pedestrian crossings, the installation of signs, and other public road needs.
Looking ahead to September, the initial steps are expected to be taken so that this deployment of funding and services "begins to be noticeable on the street."
