Footballer Diego Iglesias, one of the few bright spots for Xerez DFC last season, has finalized his transfer to Algeciras CF. The player, originally from A Coruña, will remain in the province of Cadiz following Xerez DFC's relegation to Tercera RFEF.
The 25-year-old right winger becomes the first new signing for Algeciras's 2026/27 project, which will be overseen by Jordi Figueras and managed by coach Adrián Colunga in the Primera Federación.
Diego Iglesias Yuste (born May 25, 2001) played 28 matches for Xerez DFC, scoring five goals and starting in 19 of them, accumulating 1,815 minutes. The player developed in the youth academies of Cartagena and Real Murcia.
Throughout his career, Iglesias has played for teams such as Atlético Tordesillas, where he stood out for UCAM Murcia B in Tercera RFEF, even debuting with the first team in Primera Federación. He later played for Cartagena B and last season was with Lleida in Segunda RFEF, where he played a prominent role.
