The presence of the President of the Government in La Línea de la Concepción marked a high point in the Andalusian campaign, aiming to support the Minister of Finance in the final stretch. The event, held at the Palacio de Congresos, gathered numerous attendees, mainly retirees and party veterans, in an atmosphere that combined political expectation with a festive touch.
The choice of La Línea as the venue was not accidental, given its symbolic relevance due to its proximity to Gibraltar and the socioeconomic challenges of the region. During the event, emphasis was placed on the agreement between the European Union and the United Kingdom regarding Gibraltar, presented as a historic milestone promising a new era of shared prosperity for the Campo de Gibraltar.
“"Between the queues at the fence and the queues for waiting lists, the residents of Campo de Gibraltar spend their lives waiting."
The Minister of Finance, in her speech, highlighted the importance of this agreement and the need to address the problems affecting the citizens of the area. She referred to the border situation and waiting lists, using these realities as a metaphor for the waiting experienced by the inhabitants of the Campo de Gibraltar.
The President of the Government closed the event, remembering the recently deceased civil guards and defending the role of politics as a tool to solve the problems of citizens. He underscored the Gibraltar agreement as an achievement that will guarantee the movement of cross-border workers and open a period of prosperity for the region.
The event concluded with a crowd bath and the promise that the PSOE has found in the "demolition of the fence" a powerful emotional symbol for its campaign in Andalucía, seeking to convey a message of change and hope for the region.
