The initiative, promoted by the Regional Government of Andalusia through the Campo de Gibraltar Este Health Management Area, seeks to encourage healthy lifestyle habits through group walks. The project aims to combat unwanted loneliness and strengthen social bonds among participants in the region.
Seven centers and associations from La Línea de la Concepción, San Roque, Jimena de la Frontera, Castellar de la Frontera, and San Martín del Tesorillo have collaborated in this edition. Participants reached a total of 23,956,457 steps, with particularly high involvement from groups in Castellar de la Frontera.
The program was coordinated by the Health Promotion Unit, with support from Primary Care nurses. This activity is part of the Strategy for the Promotion of a Healthy Life in Andalusia, which focuses on community interventions to improve the emotional and physical well-being of citizens at all stages of life.
