The initiative, part of the Guardianes del Mar project, aims to inform passengers about the richness and vulnerability of the cetaceans inhabiting these waters. The action will take place between July and September, coinciding with the high volume of travelers during the Operation Crossing the Strait.
Passengers on routes connecting Algeciras and Tarifa with Ceuta and Tangier will be able to watch educational videos on board. These materials provide information on the main species in the area, the threats they face, and the importance of their conservation.
To engage younger audiences, activity booklets in Spanish and French will be distributed. These educational materials include games and illustrations designed to foster respect for the marine environment from an early age.
This campaign complements other Green Strategy initiatives, such as new informative signage at the El Saladillo and Tarifa marinas, and the development of a real-time cetacean detection application to improve navigation safety.
