A party representative has announced in Algeciras the upcoming tender for the construction of the Paco de Lucía Professional Music Conservatory, with an investment of 5.5 million euros, and an expansion of vocational training opportunities in the Campo de Gibraltar.
The project for the Paco de Lucía Professional Music Conservatory has already received authorization from Heritage for the demolition of the old Fuentenueva barracks, which will allow for a “definitive boost” in the coming weeks. The future conservatory will feature an auditorium for 250 people, specialized classrooms, a library, teaching spaces, and a central courtyard of over 1,000 square meters for cultural activities.
“
"If the party continues to preside over the Junta after the next elections, the new conservatory will be a reality because we deliver on our promises."
In the educational sphere, 33 educational initiatives have been carried out in Algeciras during the legislature, with an investment of 5.4 million euros. These include the renovation of the Algeciras School of Art, the expansion of the Puerta del Mar school in Algeciras, and the IES Baelo Claudia in Tarifa. This has been described as an “unprecedented commitment to education in the Campo de Gibraltar”.
Regarding Vocational Training, the region offers 123 higher-level cycles and has over 3,000 enrolled students, with an employment insertion rate close to 95%. The educational offerings in the province will grow next academic year with 11 new qualifications, including intermediate and higher degrees, and specialization courses. Specific qualifications mentioned include Industrial Automation and Robotics in Algeciras, Industrial Chemistry in La Línea, and Transport and Logistics.
The Junta Government has increased the education budget by 87%, from 339 million in 2018 to 636 million currently. A party representative stated that the educational system is “in very good hands,” also highlighting the increase in teachers and professionals for diversity attention in Algeciras.

"The improvement of Vocational Training is key for employment, and Andalusia records the lowest school dropout rate in its history, below 15%."
