The Algeciras council has added an all-terrain vehicle with a mild-hybrid system and ECO label to the Civil Protection Delegation. This vehicle, acquired through a four-year lease agreement that includes insurance and maintenance, has been specifically adapted for the volunteer group's tasks.
The new all-terrain vehicle's equipment includes an LED light bar, semi-automatic defibrillator, fire-resistant blanket, thermal insulating blankets, fire-resistant gloves, and a six-kilogram fire extinguisher. It also features rechargeable flashlights, fluorescent yellow warning cones, and reflective signaling cones, along with first-aid kit and directional paddles for traffic control.
It is completed with an emergency hammer equipped with a seatbelt cutter, thus providing the Local Association of Civil Protection Volunteers with a more effective means for emergencies and preventive operations in Algeciras.
“"Civil Protection is a fundamental part of the City Council, highlighting the presence of its volunteers in the operations and activities that take place in the city, where they provide support and complement the work of the State Security Forces and Bodies and the Local Police."
Mayor José Ignacio Landaluce, along with the Civil Protection delegate, Patricia Bueno, presented the vehicle. Landaluce emphasized the importance of Civil Protection and the commitment to improving resources for service effectiveness. Patricia Bueno, for her part, highlighted the volunteers' "excellent altruistic attitude," whose work spans both scheduled activities and emergency situations, recognizing their efforts.
