A total of 303 individuals have been definitively admitted to the selection process for the stable coverage of six Local Police positions in Puente Genil. The first stage of the competitive examination will take place on Wednesday, October 7th, at 9:00 AM, in the “La Galana” Sports Hall.
Candidates must present their DNI (National Identity Document) or, failing that, a passport, driver's license, or other public document that reliably proves their identity. This call, initiated in 2025, was expanded from four to six positions, incorporating those included in the 2025 Public Employment Offer.
Mayor Sergio Velasco emphasized that the goal is to “incorporate new officers on a stable basis and enhance the service capacity of our Local Police.” He highlighted the importance of adhering to administrative guarantees and the establishment of the qualifying tribunal.
Concurrently, the City Council has implemented temporary reinforcements, such as the service commission that concluded in early 2026, allowing the incorporation of three officers from other municipalities. Furthermore, investments have been made in material resources, including two motorcycles and two SUV patrol vehicles acquired in 2025 for 88,093.70 euros.
A municipal traffic control system is being implemented with 39 cameras at 23 points across the municipality. Its control center will be located at the Local Police Headquarters and is expected to become operational in the first half of November.
The mayor stated that the reinforcement of staff, improvement of material resources, and incorporation of new technological tools aim to “have a Local Police with greater capacity to serve residents and respond to the needs of Puente Genil.”
The complete resolution, along with the definitive list of admitted and excluded candidates, will be available through the official channels established by the Puente Genil City Council.
