The 2026 World Cup has spurred a more than 50% increase in sports collectibles sales on the Todocoleccion portal, with a particular surge in demand for historical albums and stickers.
The Malaga-based portal Todocoleccion has experienced a notable boom in its sports collectibles category since the start of the World Cup championship. Sales have seen a growth of over 50% compared to the same period last year, primarily driven by demand for historical items linked to the World Cup.
During the first half of June, more than 44,000 sports lots were sold on the platform. Of these transactions, over 20,000 were recorded since the competition began, confirming the event's impact on the collectibles market. Football albums and stickers rank among the most expensive items sold, highlighted by the sale of a complete Megacracks 2004-2005 album featuring Leo Messi's rookie card for 6,800 euros.
Other significant transactions include a lot of Lamine Yamal stickers for 1,984 euros and an unglued album from the 1974-1975 National Championship sold for 1,617 euros. Demand also extends to items directly related to the current event, such as a complete collection of Panini 2026 World Cup stickers (302 euros) and a 1966 England World Cup album for 356 euros.
Category growth is widespread, with a 176% increase in Sports Posters and 165% in Sports Equipment. Sports Albums and Stickers, despite a 73% rise, remain the main driver of the section, accounting for 87.7% of sales. Other categories like Sports Postcards (+50%), Flags and Banners (+41%), and Sports Books (+37%) also show positive trends.
The term 'World Cup 2026' has become one of the most frequent searches on Todocoleccion, reflecting the significant collector interest. Visits to the section have increased by 21% year-on-year. International interest is also notable, with sales growth observed in countries such as Portugal, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, and Croatia.

"For over a century, every generation has started a football sticker collection. For some it's a hobby; for others, a true passion. It's a tradition that remains very much alive, and we see children and adults every day sharing the same excitement: opening a pack, discovering which players they've got, and checking if that sought-after star appears."
“
"But it doesn't end when the World Cup finishes. At Todocoleccion, we help complete that pending album, find your favorite player's sticker, and keep alive a passion that unites collectors worldwide. Each album, each sticker, and each memory holds a piece of football history. They are much more than collectibles: they are printed testaments to great sporting moments that endure generation after generation. And in a World Cup year, that emotional and documentary value gains even more strength."
