On Saturday, April 25, 2026, the regional Minister of Tourism and External Andalusia, accompanied by the mayor of Jerez and other representatives from the Junta de Andalucía and the Provincial Council of Cádiz, visited the Circuito de Jerez - Ángel Nieto. During their tour of the paddock and press room, officials witnessed firsthand the large public turnout, despite adverse weather conditions.
“"Sports tourism is a key segment for deseasonalizing Andalusia's tourism offerings. This type of audience shows a high degree of loyalty."
The minister emphasized the event's notable economic impact on the region. For instance, the 2025 edition attracted 48,000 tourists, generating a total expenditure of 17.3 million euros, the highest figure recorded to date.
The continuity of the Spanish Motorcycle Grand Prix at the Circuito de Jerez - Ángel Nieto is guaranteed until 2031. This achievement is the result of collaboration between Liberty, the Junta de Andalucía, and the Jerez de la Frontera City Council, an alliance previously confirmed by the president of the Junta de Andalucía.
“"There is a lot of competition and many countries want to join the World Motorcycle Championship calendar. There are also many circuits in Spain, but Jerez's is iconic."
The minister also highlighted the circuit's history, spanning over 40 years, solidifying its position as one of the most important motor events worldwide.
