A man has been arrested in Jerez de la Frontera for attempted homicide after allegedly attacking another man with a homemade bladed weapon described as a "spear". The incident took place last Thursday, June 11th, around 11:00 PM, in the area known as "las casitas bajas" of the San Benito Industrial Park.
The 091 operations room received multiple calls reporting a fight that left one person seriously injured. Upon arrival, officers found the victim with significant incised wounds on their right leg, forearm, and left hand. Swift police action helped stabilize the injured person before they were transported to the University Hospital of Jerez, where they remain in the ICU.
The police investigation determined that the assault occurred after a prior argument. The attacker used the homemade weapon, described as a "spear", apparently with the intent to reach vital organs. After collecting testimonies and evidence, a search operation was launched in several city neighborhoods.
Finally, at 3:00 AM, plainclothes officers located the suspect in the public street. At the time of the arrest, the individual was carrying the homemade spear, which showed traces of blood. He was disarmed, the weapon seized, and he was taken to the police station on Avenida de la Universidad.
