The territorial delegate of the Ministry in Jaén, Soledad Aranda, accompanied by the mayor of Andújar, Francisco Carmona, has overseen the progress of rural road improvement works. Aranda emphasized the Andalusian Government's commitment to the province's agricultural sector and the maintenance of essential infrastructure for agricultural labor, especially in an olive-growing region like Jaén.
The delegate indicated that the Ministry's investment aims to mitigate the damage caused to rural roads by the storms at the beginning of the year, reaffirming the Junta de Andalucía's support for the province's farmers.
In Andújar, details were provided on the works for the rural road «De la Zapera», funded by the Plan Itínere Rural. This project, with an investment exceeding 125,000 euros, will focus on repairing the road surface and improving drainage through the construction of new transversal culverts and rock armor.
Additionally, the territorial delegate visited the works on the rural road «Cagancho», in Lahiguera, carried out under the Plan Andalucía Actúa. The interventions have included the removal of accumulated mud, repair of deteriorated sections, and reconstruction of the road surface with artificial gravel.
