The event, organized by the Sierra Morena SUP Club with the support of the Andújar City Council, will feature the Andalusian Sprint Championship as its main novelty. This competition will crown the regional champions of the discipline and will be a scoring event for both the Andalusian Costa del SUP Circuit and the official calendar of the Spanish Surfing Federation.
The first edition already demonstrated the potential of Encinarejo as a destination for water sports and nature tourism within the Sierra de Andújar Natural Park, an area known for housing species such as the Iberian lynx and the imperial eagle.
The sporting program will unfold over three days. Friday, September 18th, will be for participant registration. Saturday, September 19th, will feature the dynamic Andalusian Sprint Championship with short races and knockouts. On Sunday, September 20th, the long-distance race and the technical race will be held, both counting towards the Andalusian circuit.
The competition will offer categories for all ages, from junior to absolute, including an adapted category for people with disabilities and events for beginners. In parallel, complementary activities will be organized, such as on-board yoga sessions, training workshops, equipment testing, interpretive routes, astronomical observation, and experiences related to the deer rutting season.
Improvements will be made to the reservoir's surroundings, including enhanced signage, path maintenance, and expansion of shaded areas. Event safety will be ensured with the collaboration of the Fire Department, Civil Protection, and the Guardia Civil. Registrations will open soon through the Dorsalchip platform.
