The town of Arjona is preparing to experience its traditional Royal Fair from September 10th to 13th, an event combining live music, horse parades, and activities for all ages.

The Royal Fair of Arjona, one of the oldest and most traditional events in the Campiña region, will take place from Thursday, September 10th to Sunday, September 13th. The fairgrounds, located adjacent to Paseo de Andalucía and Calle San Diego, will host four days of music, tradition, and community gathering.
The fair will kick off on Thursday, September 10th at 9:00 PM with the traditional lighting ceremony and Children's Day, featuring reduced prices on attractions. That evening, the Caseta Municipal-Juventud will host performances by Flamenco al Compás, Parazeta Versiones, and AGR Music DJ.
Throughout the weekend, from Friday, September 11th to Sunday, September 13th, the horse parade will be open from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, showcasing carriages, horses, and mules. On Saturday, September 12th, at 1:45 PM, the traditional Concurso de Atalajes (Harness Competition) will be held, offering prizes in its five categories.
The musical program at the Caseta Municipal-Juventud will continue with children's entertainment, DJs, and the orchestras La Gran Deluxe (Friday) and El Condado (Saturday). The fair's closing on Sunday, September 13th, will feature performances by Gonzalo Hermida and AGR Music DJ.
The fairgrounds are complemented by two other large marquees, CEMPA and the Círculo Cultural Urgavonense, as well as a wide variety of food stalls, churrerías, ice cream parlors, and attractions for the younger attendees.
The Councilor for Festivals, Carmen Latorre, highlighted the City Council's efforts to combine tradition and fun. The mayor, Juan Latorre Ruiz, described the event as 'the extension of a wonderful summer'.
With origins dating back to 1792, Arjona's Royal Fair was authorized by King Carlos IV as a livestock fair. After several relocations, the event became established in the urban area, evolving from its commercial function to a recreational festival focused on music, dancing, and conviviality.
