This event, considered one of the most significant artistic gatherings in Andalusia, is expected to attract high-level painters from across Spain, thanks to its substantial prize money, distributed among 15 awards.
Participants will have the opportunity to capture the essence of Andújar on their canvases, depicting its monuments, squares, streets, and the natural landscapes of the surrounding Sierra de Andújar Natural Park. This will transform the city's corners into ephemeral spaces of artistic creation.
The contest pays tribute to Luis Aldehuela, Favorite Son of Andújar, a renowned painter and set designer with a deep connection to the sierra. His legacy inspires this initiative, which for three decades has successfully merged art with local territory and identity.
“"A tool for progress and civic coexistence."
The continuation of this cultural proposal is made possible by the collaboration between the Andújar City Council and various local private sponsors, whose uninterrupted support for culture has been crucial. Culture Councillor Azucena Cepedello has highlighted this model as "a tool for progress and civic coexistence".
