The incident occurred early Tuesday morning. The 112 emergency service received several calls reporting a man lying on the ground next to a stopped car with its hazard lights on.
Emergency medical services (061) and Traffic Civil Guard units responded to the scene, but could only confirm the young man's death.
One of the main hypotheses being investigated by the Civil Guard is that the man experienced a vehicle breakdown and was subsequently hit by another car after exiting his vehicle.
This marks the second road fatality within the municipality of Carmona in less than 24 hours, following a traffic accident on the A-92 highway on Monday that claimed another life.
